This mission of SUO – HNS is to provide for the exchange of ideas and relevant information germane to the practice of medicine in an academic setting.  Career development strategies emphasizing the academic milieu are considered essential. 

Education

The Society should serve as a reference source to the Academy and Board of Otolaryngology providing guidelines for resident education and strategies for medical student learning.  A course preceding the annual meeting should provide instruction relative to an academic practice including management seminars, teaching skills, research development and funding. 

The Annual meeting should provide a forum for consideration of contemporary compelling issues amidst a backdrop of collegial interaction.
